Permit applications may be submitted via the following means:

Contractors & authorized agents may submit select applications to buildingpermits@marionfl.org.

Homeowners acting as contractors must apply for permits in person.

Requirements

Each permit type has specific application & approval requirements.

1. Use the permit checklist, included with the permit packets, to determine if your application requires additional forms & to locate permit-specific directions.
2. Complete the permit application.
3. Submit your permit application packet. All applications must include the required deposit fee.

Fees

Fees may be paid by the following means:

• Cash
• Escrow account fund
• Check (payable to Marion County BCC)
• Credit/Debit card

Permit application packets that do not include plans are accepted during regular business hours via email to buildingpermits@marionfl.org or electronically through ePlans.

• Marion County competency card number OR state license number
• Minimum liability insurance coverage of $150,000. Must have $100,000 per occurrence for personal injury & $50,000 per occurrence for property damage.
